Workout Buddies

Do you ever go to the gym or outside to do a workout, but realize that it gets kind of boring?
Well, I get bored very easily when working out and now that Sean and I have gotten back into the groove, I wanted to write about the benefits of having someone beside you working out with you.

1. Motivation - When you have someone doing the same thing you are, they are like the motivation you need when you feel that it is getting a little too tough to do by yourself. From encouraging words to actually helping you get off of you lazy butt and doing something.

2. Competition - I feel as though motivation and competition can go hand it hand. As much motivation as your buddy is, he or she can also serve as the goal you need to beat and surpass. They make you work harder without realizing it.

3. Companionship - As stated before, it can get really boring day in and day out when you are working out by yourself. If you have someone with you, you don't feel as though you are going through this by yourself.

I just recently got back into working out and today was the first time in a long time that Sean and I went running together. Although we were not side by side the entire time, just knowing that someone else was there reaching for the same goal you are made it so much more fun and exciting.

Do you guys work out with a friend? How do you like it?
